SAFE provides courtroom companionship for clients involved in civil or criminal cases as a result of experiencing domestic violence or sexual assault.\u00a0 SAFE staff and trained volunteers can assist clients in a variety of ways.<\/p>\n
SAFE staff and trained volunteers are present in criminal and civil domestic violence courtrooms to directly provide support and assistance to clients involved with the judicial system, and to advocate on behalf of clients.\u00a0 SAFE can assist with paperwork for domestic violence protective orders and criminal charges.\u00a0 Also, referrals to law enforcement, the District Attorney, a magistrate, Clerk\u2019s office personnel, other victim services, and the Crime Victims Compensation Program can be made.<\/p>\n
