North Carolina Crime Victims Compensation Services<\/strong> :\u00a0 Victims Compensation Services reimburses citizens who suffer medical expenses and lost wages as a result of being an innocent victim of crime committed in North Carolina.\u00a0 Victims of rape, assault, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, and drunk driving, as well as the families of homicide victims are eligible to apply for financial help.\u00a0 Please visit this site for more information and an application for the program.\u00a0 SAFE staff can assist victims with completing the application and gathering supporting documentation.<\/p>\n

NC Crime Victims Rights Act<\/strong> <\/a>:\u00a0 Federal and State laws offer rights to victims of crime including those inflicted with pain, suffering, property loss and physical loss due to domestic violence, sexual assault, drunk driving, elder abuse, robbery, physical abuse and other crimes.\u00a0 Both federal and state law provides a definition of a victim.
